About the author

Daniel Wilmot

Daniel Wilmot is a York-based writer, actor and director.

Other writing for radio includes supernatural comedy-drama series Surge, ghost story Drum Circle, and adaptations of Zorro: The Curse of Capistrano, Lot No. 249 and The Fall of the House of Usher. Writing for theatre includes adaptations of Sherlock Holmes, The Three Musketeers and Treasure Island.

He also wrote the scripts for Roseward Media’s Very Magical Adventure tours, along with The Dark Arts Tour of York and material for York’s Chocolate Story.

He is the founder of Baron Productions and appeared as the titular detective in their London revival of Sherlock Holmes in February 2023. Other acting credits include Wuthering Heights (Heathcliff), The Picture of Dorian Gray (Dorian), The Tempest (Prospero), Jane Eyre (Rochester) and title roles in Macbeth, Hamlet and Henry IV Part 1.

He was the villain of the York Maze Phantomime from 2012-2018 and has recently lent his voice to Behear for their thriller radio series Bloodroots.

Daniel holds an MA in Writing, Directing and Performance from the University of York, and an MDrama from the Universities of Kent and San Diego, California.
